Pittsburgh native and graduate of Music Technology, Robert Balotsky a.k.a Buku is continuing to rise to the cream of the crop amongst North American producers with his recently dropped single “Align.” Buku has already touted by the likes of Bassnectar, Pete Tong, and Zane Low, and was given the Deadmau5 seal of approval after the artist described Balotsky’s production style as ‘where dubstep is going’. Buku’s music has seen releases on Owsla’s Nest HQ, UKF’s Pilot Records as well as features on Fool’s Gold, Main Course and Mad Decent.
”Align” was recently released on August 10th and utilizes the artist’s own vocals (similar in style to his previous release “Front to Back”) and in the artists own words:
“With “Align,” I set out to create a tune with a trance-anthem type atmosphere. I had so much fun with creating the “Front to Back” vocals, that I decided to incorporate the same studio techniques/tricks on my own voice. Not only is it super fun and strange to execute, I think I created a tune that you can throw your hands up and belt out at the rave.”
The new track is being released independently and is available free to download on the artists Soundcloud. With layered drums, a touch of trance created by the synthed vocals, and just enough bass to make his former collaborators proud; it safe to say (with a side of cheese) stars are starting to align for Buku’s new single.
