Ultra Music Festival Going Underground?

Ultra Music Festival Going Underground?

When Ultra Music Festival announced its phase one lineup for 2015, the number of underground acts aligned with headliners stood out like a sore thumb. Now, the billing’s positioning of sounds and DJs is starting to make a lot more sense.

Announcing  a new stage concept dubbed Resistance, it seems Ultra is putting an emphasis on underground house sub genres with its own dedicated theme. It’s a telling sign of the evolving tastes of the US EDM market.

Here’s how Ultra is defining their Resistance concept as of now:

It’s the urge to go against the grain, to step out of the box, to move away from the norm and challenge yourself to experience something new– to break down boundaries and barriers and abandon your comfort zone– to be able to open your eyes and ears to an undiscovered realm of electronic music.
