Festival season might be over for 2015, but that’s not stopping the state of Florida from unveiling a brand new music festival. On Thursday (Oct. 15), it was announced that the city of Okeechobee, FL will be hosting the inaugural Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival. In addition to the announcement for the new festival that will call central Florida home, the first phase of performers were announced.
Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Skrillex, Portugal. The Man, Grace Potter, X Ambassadors, and many more will make their way down south to Florida in March of 2016. According to the festival’s website, they will feature a “multi-genre lineup of bands and DJs from the world [that] will reflect [our] extremely diverse culture and community.” The festival will also include five stages with more than 80 artists, bands, and DJs. Festival organizers also promise that the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will be “Florida’s biggest ever camping festival celebration.” Watch the official lineup announcement for the inaugural event above.
Currently, three-day, tier one and three-day, tier two general admission camping passes are available on the festival’s website. Other passes will become available at a later date. All passes include the three performance days, “primitive” camping as well as Thursday “pre-festival” day/day of parking. For those leaning towards second-tier or VIP tickets but are in a financial situation, festival organizers have revealed that they will begin to offer payment plans following the initial release of the tickets.
