SFX is currently trying to dominate the US scene and is also using Q-dance in this process. Last year Shelly Finkel said the following in an interview about their strategy for America: “We will take Q-dance to probably a dozen (12) cities in the US on a smaller level and they will hopefully go to the next step soon. We will also build a festival or two in the US with Defqon.1.”
This was fantastic news for every hard dance lover from the US, Canada and Mexico of course, but the interview took place a year ago and unfortunately things went silent after that. That was until MC Villain held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit yesterday. He answered some questions about this specific matter:
Where do you think the harder styles will end up in the USA? Can I expect Defqon.1 America in the foreseeable future?
Villain: Defqon will come!!!
I saw you in orlando and was one of the few hardstyle shows ever in Florida. Do you think DEFQON 1 will ever come to the US?
No doubt that day will come soon
If we are to believe the MC who’s present at almost every Q-dance event, Defqon.1 Festival will soon undergo its thirs expansion next to Holland and Australia. It’s a logical effect since Hardstyle has been growing rapidly the past few years. We for one can’t wait to visit the first edition!
Currently Defqon.1 has taken place in countries such as Australia and the Netherlands. Popular hardstyle DJs and producers like Wildstylez, Zatox, Brennan Heart, Coone and many more have all participated in these events. It’s truly amazing to see just how accepted the style of Q-dance has become.
