TECH N9NE AND EXCISION TEAM UP FOR “ROAD KILL” MUSIC VIDEO

“‘Road Kill’ is like we’re runnin’ over EVERYTHING! Lyrical Road Kill! Get out of our way!’”Tech N9ne says of the intense song. The music video for “Road Kill” was shot LIVE this past March as Excision played to a sold-out Midland Theatre in Tech N9ne’s hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. Excision brought Tech N9ne out to a roaring crowd of fans and the two performed the cut, all the while, filming a video.
“Roadkill” is Tech N9ne’s first major step into the world of EDM, and also, the first major collaboration with a top rap artist for Excision. Speaking on the genre-bending collaboration, Excision said, “I loved working with the legend Tech N9ne, our styles meshed together so easily and the result is a banger!”Tech divulges that it was “total validation”to work with Excision. “I’ve loved the EDM scene for quite some time and he’s one of the heavyweights and I recognize it. I knew it was meant for us to work together. He knew exactly what to send me. I knew this had something to do with Monster Energy, but when I said, ‘I NEED ENERGY!’ that’s what the beat made me feel like, I knew what I wanted to say.”

Despite their seemingly different worlds, the two share common bonds outside of being part of the Monster Energy family. Both artists have been known to weave heavy metal into their own unique sounds throughout their careers. Also, both have created their own successful independent record labels; Tech N9ne formed Strange Music with partner Travis O’Guin in 2000 and Excision launched his Rottun Records in 2005.

“Road Kill”appeared on Tech N9ne’s most recent studio album, Special Effects, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 Chart this last May, selling over 67,000 units in its first week, Tech’s biggest album debut ever.

Both Tech N9ne and Excision will be on their own tours throughout the fall. For Tech N9ne dates visit www.strangevip.com and for Excision dates visit www.excision.ca.
