Words By: Gabrielle Nicole Pharms
I’ve always viewed Electric Zoo as the homecoming for fall and bidding of farewell to summer, but with melodic synths and a kickdrum.
It’s a trifecta of everything the electronic dance music world is all about: fun, appreciation and boisterous bass. This is my second year to cover EZoo and I cannot express in words the magnitude of my feelings of anticipation. Well, I suppose words have to be emphasized in order for you to really understand the excitement factor of this festival. However, why settle on my words of thrill when you can just show up to the festival too?
Get your tix NOW! Below you will find a list of artists by day of the shows that we plan to hit. Whatever we don’t see on the festival grounds on Randall’s Island, we certainly plan to check out at the series of afterparties. (see image below).
Friday, August 31st: Netsky, Argy, Dillon Francis, Ferry Corsten, Matt Zo, A-Trak and Pretty Lights
Saturday, September 1st: Sleepy & Boo, The White Panda, Autoerotique, Koze, Felix Cartel, Sander Von Doorn, 12th Planet, Kill The Noise, Sasha, Benny Benassi and Above & Beyond
Sunday, September 2nd: Destructo, Eliot Lip, Paper Diamond, W&W, Z-Trip, Dash Berlin, Zedd, Flux Pavilion and Doctor P, Tiësto, Boys Noize, Bloody Beetroots DJ Set and Skrillex
Also, I am all about rooting for the underdog. In honor of all things underground, yet brilliant, EDM Magazine will profile one DJ a day beginning tomorrow that you should add to your playlist. I recently attended the KahBang Music & Art Festival in Maine and had the privilege of witnessing Paper Diamond. He’s signed with Mad Decent, did you know that? Check back tomorrow for our first edition of “EZoo DJs You Should Know” profile featuring Paper Diamond.
